As is probably noticeable, I have made a couple site changes. Foremost is the switch from Movable Type to Wordpress. I’m all about PHP and on-the-fly generated pages these days.
Plus, Wordpress appears to be more conscientious about producing valid markup. No longer will ampersands and the like from links mess with my validation.

Jon Stewart recently gave the commencement speech at his alma mater, William and Mary. The transcript has found its way online.
An excerpt:

Really makes you think about Dade County, Florida and the inanities of the 2000 Presidential election aftermath.

The Washington Post has a fluff piece about the various political operations bounding about uber swing state Ohio. Its requisite section on liberal operatives includes this quote:
Lawton does not fit the popular stereotype of an angry liberal, using the Web to rage against the machine. His hair is not long, or spiked, or colored with [...]

From Robert Reich in the New York Times:
Another explanation is more consistent with economic and political rationality. Bill Clinton, and now John Kerry, have taught the bond traders on Wall Street an important and comforting lesson: no matter how big deficits grow under Republican presidents, eventually a Democratic president will come along to clean up [...]
