I was reading a fair to middling article by Stewert Mandel of SI.com summarizing the College Bowl aftershocks.
Mr. Mandel admits he was wrong about Heisman winner Jason White, the ability of Big 12 defenses and why USC quaterback Matt Leinart doesn’t have the words “Heisman winner” in front of his name.
In parting Mr. Mandel presents his (probably) first in the nation and new year pre-season top ten.
His lineup begins incurably unsurprising. USC is first, LSU second, etc.. Mr. Mandel saves all the elements of surprise for his final pick:
10. Cal: No, not a typo. QB Aaron Rodgers will be one of the nation’s best next year.
I don’t know if a typo can explain an entire sentence, including the phrase, “No, not a typo”, but I was near shocked out of my seat.
