Congratulations are in order for everyone on the UC Berkeley Men’s Ultimate Frisbee Team for successfully defeating a bunch of co-ops in the First Annual(?) UC Berkeley Downhill Soap Box Racing Championship. Teams were only allowed to scrounge for parts and the car had to be built within the period beginning friday afternoon and ending saturday afternoon.
We didn’t just win, we dominated in speed and style. Our racer was easily the sturdiest, turniest and fastest. That wheelchair didn’t stand a chance. Although, I have to hand it to the rocking chair on skateboards. Truly inspired.
The best part was Goose going Mario Kart style, tossing a banana peel behind him soon after the start.
Unfortunately I couldn’t help actually build the racer. I’m not sure my moral support was enough of a factor.
