Hiatus

December 17th, 2003 1 Comment

After a couple of days in which finals have suppressed my output, I’m now gonna be gone for some time more.
I think it makes sense to officially go on hiatus for the moment.
I don’t know when I’ll be back posting. Maybe not until January.
Happy Holidays.

The letter suggests that by allowing the marketing consultancy firm BrightHouse use of their fMRI equipment for neuromarketing studies Emory is in danger of losing their public funding.

December 11th, 2003 1 Comment

The National Human Genome Institute (NHGRI) has made available the complete Chimpanzee genome.
This data will be incredibly useful in all sorts of important ways:
People and chimpanzees have roughly 98 percent of their DNA in common, and many researchers want to know what the genomic differences are. These could help explain why some diseases affect people [...]

Useless Internet Quiz

This site has one of those useless political quizes that tell you what you want to hear. This one tells you which candidate you ought to support come November.
The results are about right, except for that nutso Lyndon LaRouche. They even got the Dean/Clark 1-2 punch right on the money.
Your Results:
1. Your ideal [...]

Far be it for me to promote some product of that odious Junior College Stanford. Worse if it is a creation of the Stanford Ultimate Frisbee Team.
But I have to admit this ultimate frisbee video game is pretty cool.
Better, your team is always blue and your opponents always red. I guess they like [...]

Proving some old saying about cockroaches scurrying from the direct and abusive daylight sun, the Egyptian library that had previously displayed the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in the same case as the Torah will now remove the forgeries.
There is a bit more to this story. There is something more than curious.
Here is [...]
