California 54, Washington 7

November 15th, 2003 by Talboito

Every time I forget they exist they prove me mistaken. At this point maybe the Washington Huskies wish they don’t exist. The University of California, Berkeley football team wolloped, creamed, smashed and mangled the Huskies today.

Geoff “#2 in the Nation” McArthur caught a 79-yard touchdown pass on the first play. Apparently that was the end of the game. Score, 54-7. Total Cal Offensive Yards, 729.

The Chronicle puts it best:

Cal punted for the first time midway through the third quarter — drawing loud cheers from the Huskies’ faithful — but Charles Frederick muffed the return to give the Bears the ball back at the 26.

Incidently, Stanford routed by Oregon St. 43-3.

I do dearly wish I had a ticket for the Big Game next saturday. Then again, if I don’t watch we’ll probably win. Its not like we can rush the field and tear down Stanford’s goal posts anyway.

Go Bears!
