Glenn Reynolds points to a report from the UK as evidence that more gun control leads to more gun crimes. His contention appears to be that gun crimes, especially as a percentage of all violent crime, are on the rise. The facts of the article don’t seem to support his argument.
Police and ministers stress, however, that Britain is still one of the safest places in the world, with one of the lowest levels of gun crime. There were 0.15 gun deaths in England and Wales per 100,000 population in the past year, compared with 3.6 per 100,000 in the US.
Of course this remains an apples/oranges type of argument, but the fact remains. The country with stricter gun laws has less gun crime.

i like your first post! i’m sitting here laughing at 10:53 p.m. on wednesday.
Well you may say that, but think about this… After Washington passed their gun control laws, the crime rate within the state rasied to above 200%!!! Nobody can deny this. All of you citizens reading this, cheak for your at different websites and the news. Secondly is that, when the gun laws are passed, they are taking the guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens. Not, I repeat NOT the crime lords, gangs, and any other sort of criminal. This is because the have already gained access to illegal firearms and are they going to hand them in? NO they are not. Thus taking the protection away for the regular citizens of the United States. ALL OF US. Along with this, this movement is violating the second amendment. The Supreme Court ruled in 1939, in a case called “US v. Miller,” that the 2nd amendment only protects guns suitable for a well-regulated militia — for example, sawed-off shotguns can be banned because they’re not “ordinary military equipment”. Since 1939, the Supreme Court has not heard any further 2nd amendment cases; the most recent ruling, in 1997, overturned part of the 1993 Brady Bill, but did not address 2nd amendment rights. Hence, gun control issues are primarily the subject of Congressional legislation.
